Human Rights

In response to the massive use of violence against civilians during the events of October 2000, the Mossawa Centre decided to take an active role in the protection of human rights in Israel. The Mossawa Centre collected testimonies of thirty-five victims of police violence in fourteen villages and cities. These testimonies were submitted to the Or Commission, an official investigation committee appointed by the government and headed by High Court Justice Theodore Or. The testimonies were published in the local newspapers and in a special report. In addition, the victims received legal advice from the Mossawa Centre's legal staff.
