The Mossawa Center held a training workshop this week in Ar’ara for women council members, as part of its Women’s Leadership Project. The initiative aims to empower women in local councils, strengthen their leadership, and provide professional tools to influence decision-making.

The session, attended by Mossawa Executive Director Suha Salman Mousa, project coordinator Dr. Rawda Markus Makhoul, Council Head Dr. Nizar Aql, and Deputy Head Dr. Fatima Malhem, addressed challenges facing women in local government. Speakers praised the role of women leaders and highlighted the importance of expanding their presence in municipal and community life.

A second group session is scheduled for December 2025, where council members will present field projects from their towns as practical models of women’s leadership.
