“The Mossawa Center Expands Its Work with Youth: Lectures, Volunteer Programs, and a Democratic Experience in Schools”

As part of the youth and student activities at the Mossawa Center, Majd Manaa, from the Center’s Youth Activities Department, delivered a series of professional lectures over the past month in several schools, including Al-Shaghour High School in Majd al-Kroum, Shezaf–Al-Mutanabbi School in Haifa, Al-Karmelit School in Haifa, and Al-Riham School in Majd al-Kroum.

During the past week, Manaa met with the new male and female volunteers at the Mossawa Center to develop an activity plan for the upcoming period, define areas of volunteer work, and strengthen the role of young people in community initiatives.

The lectures he delivered focused on the role of student councils within the school environment and the tasks these councils can undertake to enhance student life and serve the school and the community. He also reviewed key achievements and initiatives that student councils can accomplish, providing students with a clear vision of the impact of organized student work. This was in addition to discussing the volunteer project at the Mossawa Center.

At Al-Shaghour High School, Manaa served as master of ceremonies during the student council elections. He contributed to organizing the event and ensuring that the electoral process proceeded professionally, in a way that strengthens the democratic experience within the school.
