The Mossawa Center on the Begin Plan: We are rejecting this plan and will not abandon the Bedouin Citizens who have rights to their Land.

Last Sunday, the government permitted the Begin plan despite it being rejected by Arab residents of the Negev and the Arab population in general in regards to the Praver policy and the changes proposed by Minister Begin.

he Government is claiming that the government will invest over one billion NIS in this plan.  This budget will be on behalf of budgets allocated for Bedouins in the Negev while disregarding all of the disadvantages and the marginalization of Arabs in the Negev.  According to the plan, the government will force the relocation of more than 30 thousand Arab citizens from their lands in the Negev.  Legal advocate and Mossawa Project leader, Nidal Othman responded to this action by stating that, "This plan will neglect the Bedouin population in the unrecognized villages in the Negev and will take away the rights of citizens to hundreds of thousands of acres that are in their property.  He added, "We reject this plan and we are calling for all human rights workers and citizens of the country and the world to advocate for the rights of Bedouins in the Negev."
