As part of the “Leading Women Network” project, the Mossawa Center held the second meeting of the program on Friday, June 12, with the participation of 27 women from various Arab localities. The meeting was organized as part of the Center’s efforts to build a strong network of women leaders and strengthen the role of women in leading social change through organized community action.
The meeting included an interactive workshop facilitated by Jaber Assaqla, focusing on the concepts of collaborative leadership and community organizing. The workshop aimed to develop participants’ skills in relationship-building, analyzing community challenges, and transforming ideas into practical initiatives that respond to the needs of their local communities.
The gathering provided a space for dialogue and collective thinking, where participants discussed various issues and challenges facing women and Arab society. They also began developing initial ideas for community-based initiatives that can be further advanced throughout the program, strengthening women’s presence as leaders and influential actors in public life and decision-making processes.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of organized collective action in creating meaningful change and emphasized the central role of women in building support networks and community partnerships capable of addressing local challenges and creating new opportunities for positive and sustainable impact.
The “Leading Women Network” program is being implemented for the second consecutive year by the Mossawa Center, in cooperation with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the European Union. The program aims to develop local women’s leadership, increase women’s participation in public life, and support them in launching community initiatives that contribute to meaningful and sustainable change within their communities.
