The Mossawa Center was honored for its work in achieving funds for Palestinian Culture

On Saturday, the 6th of March, the Mossawa Center, MK Ahmed Tibi and Head of Arab Culture Unit of the Israeli Culture Ministry, LoubnaZoabi attened an event for cultural achievements, at the “Mowal Center” in Nazareth.The eventincluded traditional musical and Palestinian Traditional Dabke dancing performances by a music group from Tarschisha, the Mowal band and the Salma Dance Academy.

MK AhmedTibi, LoubnaZoabi and Director of the Mossawa Center, Jafar Farah, delivered speeches on the importance of promoting Arab culture in order to strengthen Palestinian identity.

Mossawa was honored for its achievements in advocating for the allocation of additional funds for the culture budget for Israel’s Palestinian community. MK Ahmed Tibi, who was thanked for raising awareness of the important role of Palestinian culture and identity, noted in his speech that: “The Mossawa Center is one of the most active organizations lobbying in the Knesset”

Pointing to the important role of local authorities in maintaining and cultivating Palestinian culture, Jafar Farah stated: “All Heads of Arab local councils must make our culture a top priority on the agenda of developing their communities”.



Mossawa was also represented by a youth delegation that is part of a capacity building project, which aims to increase the awareness and capacities of youth to be more active citizens. The youth are gaining the skills and knowledge to work for their rights on both the local and national levels.
