The Mossawa Center Launches its Resource Development Course

The first session of the International Advocacy and Resource Development Course was held on Friday, June 2nd, at the Mossawa Center. The meeting was opened by the Executive Director of the Mossawa Center, Suha Salman Musa, welcoming the attendees and introducing the work of the Mossawa Center in the field of international, parliamentary, and legal advocacy, and community organizing to claim the economic, social, political, and cultural rights of Palestinian citizens in the country. She also emphasized the importance of holding such courses to equip participants with the necessary information and operational mechanisms to formulate ideas or projects for local initiatives or associations and how to present them to donor entities to support and develop our society.
 
The Coordinator of International Advocacy and Resource Development at the Mossawa Center, Mays Medleg, spoke about civil society and the multiplicity of non-governmental organizations and associations, and the importance of their role as pressure on governmental institutions in various issues, according to the issue that the institution advocates. She also introduced the vital role that the Resource Development  department plays in any non-profit organization.
 
Alex Meyer, the former Project Coordinator at the European Union, added about the importance of integration between various local civil society organizations and international organizations to claim rights.
 
This coursee aims to equip participants with information about the importance of international advocacy and resource development for local initiatives and civil associations, especially in the face of the challenges and restrictions faced by our society in general, and non-governmental organizations and associations in particular.
